Great. China. Wall. Not the Great Wall of China, one of the most monumental man-made structures in the world, but rearrange the name and you’ll find the name of an extremely exclusive vintage clothing line rooted in LA. I came across this underground cult brand when watching an old episode of Laguna Beach, and I couldn’t believe the astronomical pricing. A sweater emblazoned with wild designs will ring up a bill from $700 - $1000 (’Cami’ on Laguna Beach 3 ended up with a $4000 bill for GCW merch). …

Kate Moss is a Fashion Icon, no doubt. Of course there’s the controversy surrounding her and Pete Doherty, but her cocaine addiction and mess of a lifestyle hasn’t stopped her in total fashion industry domination. She’s definitely not as credible of a source when it comes to the whirlwind style industry, but Moss is still a contender.
Despite the controversy that surrounds this supermodel - she’s still hotly pursued by large fashion houses such as Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Versace to name a few. She’s even managed to stir up some …

TokiDoki has always been my personal muse - I can’t seem to grasp the concept of a Japanese-inspired cartoon design exuding sophistication and fun. Simone Legno, an Italian Designer, has established collaborations with numerous companies producing items such as stationary, hats, clothing, and most notably their line with LeSportSac. These elaborate designs leave their purse-starved following in awe from season to season as they change colour schemes, sizes, and characters.
Recently Simone Legno has collaborated with Onitsuka Tiger (Asics’ popular shoe line) to create a mischievous tiger character. Based on the …

Classic. At least that’s what the Levi’s brand is trying to convey. I remember in my first year of university we studied an article in my first year management class regarding the demise of Levi’s. This was due to its inability to update its brand and its meager attempts at capturing trends in their clothing line. However somewhere between yawn-inducing first year lectures and last year’s breakout (all the exchange students that were in my consumer behaviour class owned them and knew the numbers of the jeans. They presented a …

This magazine is a gem. It has a whimsical aura about it, and it’s a baby of a publication which I didn’t realize. I was first exposed to it a year ago when my friend gave it to me for my birthday.
Lula Magazine is a hefty collection of glossy and bold images presenting underground fashions with a child-like quality. Page to page there are quotes in large bold print accompanied by diverse photography styles - there are no lengthy articles, only eye candy for the fashion soul.
Visit their website for …

After the announcement of the price slash for the 2 month new Apple iPhone, the keynote speech by Steve Jobs has also conceived the release of the next generation in the iPod Nano and the iPod Classic. These gorgeous pocket-sized beauties have captured my heart - new features include video, bright display, anodized metal (scratch resistant), an enhanced interface on the Nano, and FIVE NEW COLOURS. The iPod Classic boasts its new interface, design, as well as larger harddisk space.
I purchased my Nano two years ago upon its first release …

I love denim. I love classic bootcut denim with back pocket detail, a perfect example being a new jean from Citizens of Humanity (click here). This dark denim beauty is precisely what I need to start salivating over Fall and Winter trends. Higher end denim is precisely what every girl needs in their wardrobe - it just seems to pull everything together in an outfit, and will allow for versatility (dressing up or dressing down).
Throw away those old faded and tattered-leg jeans and invest in new ones!

Front and center of www.people.com: Angelina Jolie and Zahara in matching Valentino “Histoire” handbags, simply strolling in a New York park.
It’s actually unbelievable how spoiled celebrity children have become, and frankly I’m flushing with envy because it’s becoming more and more evident. For example, on one of my MTV.ca programming binges I watched Ryan Scheckler’s (pro-skateboarder all of 17 years old) younger brother host a huge Ace-Ventura themed party complete with live animals and loads of overpriced presents.
Do I sound bitter? Probably. My children are each going to receive a …

In the midst of Toronto’s Fashion District, Main Tourist Area, and Financial District lies one of the most culturally saturated communities in the vast city - Kensington Market.
Japanese-based stores offering hilarious graphic T’s and mod-styled sunglasses for 10 dollars, Vintage retailers resembling your grandma’s closet in disarray, and Vintage retailers mimicking high end stores, are three of the numerous shopping choices that exist on three major streets.
My latest discovery relating to Kensington Market would be that they actually have an official website: http://www.kensington-market.ca . I think that it’s interesting to …
