I’m lucky to get an invite to the evan&dean show at the upcoming L’OREAL Fashion Week (sshh, I’m too lazy to type out the actual French accent). They’re showing on October 23rd, 5:00pm.
Check out this gorgeous invite that I got in the mail – it’s even gorgeous down to the texture of the envelope.
Love!

I’m sure that the hardcore fashionista Obama supporters (if there is such a thing) are reading this already decked out in their designer Obama pieces, but for those who don’t know you can now purchase designer Obama clothing online.
Girls can choose from a variety of pieces that range from tank tops by Alexander Wang to tote bags by Marc Jacobs. You can even accessorise your outfit with a Proenza Schouler leather bracelet.
There isn’t as much choice for the guys (you can imagine my dissapointment…ha!) but you can get a T-shirt …

Now you can be as mad-rad as Zooey Deschanel by checking out the NylonMag.com shopguide with her. I can’t help but think she looks a lot like Katy Perry here – non?

With one of my random stopovers at revolveclothing.com I stumbled upon a Fall 2008 Style Guide compiled by Gossip Girl lead stylist, Eric Daman. I know everyone’s been raving endlessly about Gossip Girl clothing (me too! absolutely stunning!), so I thought I would share this guide that I found.

It’s pages and pages of colour that pops, flattering shapes, and really pushes us working girls towards new clothing boundaries.

Eric Daman picks out girl archetypes like “The Hipster Schoolgirl”, “Young Annie Hall”, “The Girl Friday”, and “The Perfect Teen Collegiate Girl”. Fun …

Accessories, Ha-Ha, Would You Wear It? »

Often imitated, never quite ironic. Check this melty Chanel-alike necklace, I did a double take when I saw it.

The golden descriptor:
Admittedly, Coco Chanel is a good 35 years dead. Just take a look at this dark, melting Chanel monogram necklace. Coco would turn in her grave, if she could see it…or perhaps, like us, she’d just buy one. Unique accessories that merge the appreciation for couture with a contemporary, minimal aesthetic. Using precious metals and jewels contrasted with iconographic objects in acrylic and metal, make a statement with this accessory …

I’m going to this! I went in the Spring and it was a pretty good time, I managed to find a vint belt that I am still obsessed with, and people like the talented Adrienne Butikofer will be there too. It may not be the most glamorous event, but they definitely have something to offer – there will be new sections and new finds to be made.

So check it out Toronto – September 26, 27 & 28, 2008, clickety here.

I started this blog/website because I love style, writing, and graphic design. Not because I wanted to create an open forum for people to scrutinize me and continually find things not-to-their liking to talk about.

I do it because I love it, not because of who people think they are and what they can say to me.

With that said – I’ve decided that it’s a good thing for people to be paying attention, it makes me grow. It’s easy to run away from what you put out there, but that would …

Chucks please – these lim edition Chuck Taylors are a continuation of the (RED) movement, with 5% of every shoe purchase donated to AIDS (the theme of ‘caution’ is prominent in the design of the shoe). Created in conjuntion with Kuntzel + Deygas (their site has incredible work showcased on it), these babies have been catching a lot of attention.

Where can you get it? Make a stopover at the NYC colette x gap concept store. Do it to it!

Not to sound all groupie-like, but this is a callout to The Eatons, who will be playing at THE PEEK early October, at the New Era Flagship Store (Queen West Yall!). They’re coming out with some great new material, but in the meantime you can check their EP available on iTunes and MySpace. The Eatons are getting some good buzz around town, so check ‘em out now now now. They’re addictive man.

Did I say now? I meant now.

I think I’m going to find myself writing about American Apparel a lot more lately – it’s my latest muse (and great amusement). I’m intrigued by their sunglasses and their claims that we, the average consumer, can get our optometrists (one that I lack) to fill their frames. Roite.

Regardless, their funked out shades are just what I need. I’m a firm believer in wearing shades in the winter (yeah, albedo effect and all. Thanks gr 10 science) – consider these babies the next time you need to protect those eyeballs.
