Distillery District is among my favourite places in Toronto – not only does it house production of a favoured adult beverage, but it offers some fantastic boutiques and little shops that are driven by the quality of their products and how unique they are in nature. I love it.

One such store would be the Distill Gallery, a store that houses works of over 120 emerging Canadian talent (whether it be jewelry, clothing, crafts, or contemporary design). Just being in the store made me feel at home, where everything felt so …

Why get naked when you can get Naked and Famous all with a simple pair of well-fitting jeans. They’re making some serious waves with their offering of Japanese imported fabrics, and catching some hefty attention from retailers like Over the Rainbow, and Aritzia, N&F sells based on high quality, raw denim. Who needs bells and whistles when you can just get Naked and feel good. Alright, stop reading into the double entendres and read into my Q&A with Brandon Svarc:

As some of you may know, the recently opened Jonathan + Olivia (49 Ossington Ave) will be carrying the Justice X Surface to Air collection. The collection consists of three leather jackets and two pairs of jeans, with the leather jackets being the highlight. Only a few stores are carrying the line so I’m happy to see that a shop in Toronto was able to get the collection. Though I doubt that any young Justice fan will be rocking these pieces with the leather jackets going for …

…has launched! Who would have known that one of the most beloved brands from Aritzia has now found a home online. A scattered array of polaroid pictures show promise of some really gorgeous clothing coming up for the fall.
This is definitely my favourite line from Aritzia…too bad I haven’t found anything from them that 9281021 other girls haven’t gotten to before me. In other news, TNA.com has been updated as well for fall.

It’s always a good idea to trust someone that permanently has a thunderbolt on her cheek. And has blond choppy bangs. Always.
Lady GaGa has been getting some pretty amazing press coverage and radio plays – what makes this artist so incredibly unique is the fact that she embraces the “out of space” look every day. I personally think her dark-haired days were better.
Anyway, I just think she’s wacky enough to be likeable – anyone that wears white gloves I respect in my books! Check her track “Just Dance“.

I’ve always been a fan of boombox bag kitsch, I think there’s a novelty in a soft ghetto blaster strung from your shoulder.
I recently rediscovered it again at the Blue Banana Market in Kensington – there was a Parcel bag with built-in-crappy-speakers you can plug into your ipod and shimmy along the streets to.
Check my collection of music-oriented bags that I put together.

The Fake Boom Bag – You know, the kind that doesn’t actually have a function other than to look cool and grab some giggles
The Working Boom Box – …

With colder days coming our way it’s time to put away the boat shoes, roll down the cuffed pants and put on some socks. It’s unpleasant to hear but hopefully the following footwear brands will give you something to look forward to and make the fall season bearable.

Hey Folks,

So you might be asking / thinking a few things, one of them being “What is The Peek?!”.

Well take a look-see at urbanebloc.com/thepeek. It’s a collective of local talent that we’re showcasing at the New Era Flagship Store on Queen West, on the night of Nuit Blanche. Way to kick off the changes in store for urbanebloc huh? Mark it off in your calendars – it’s a free event and you’re coming! Music, art, hats, and the coolest folk you’ll ever meet, what else is there?

Hey Juicy! Thanks for catching on that velour isn’t the only thing that girls tolerate. I’m liking this print (but I hold a slight bias since I have an unconcealed love for patterned-ruffle-shirts-with-ruching. Sorry.) Regardless, this silk green 10-button shirt is definitely something I would consider investing in ($198.00 kind of hurts).

Now, will you people stop making crested-velour jumpsuits? Try something else!
