Ok, so maybe in reality cash doesn’t rule everything around me, but Wu-wear sure does! Yes, Wu-wear is back somehow after years on hiatus. Vintage Wu-wear is definitely something to admire, it was some good quality urban street steez before the “street wear” craze took off and was also one of the very first rapper fronted clothing lines before the urban sh*t got crazy and stupid.

Now the new Wu offerings may not be as creative or as well made as their vintage stuff, but to hell with that, Wu Tang anything is damned cool (I once had the Wu symbol tatted on me *sniff*). Their new line includes low top sneaks and a hiking boot designed in collaboration with Fila, some tees encrested with their legendary logo, a short sleeve henley, and a coated shirt jacket.

As the lyrics say… Wu-tang clan ain’t nothing to f*** with. And the same goes for their clothes!

So I’ve been keeping really busy lately, but since The Peek has ended (yes, we’re thinking about the next one already, so keep a look out for more events from urbanebloc x mindzai), I’ve had some free time to start contributing actively to my fashionschmashionpassion. One way of doing that? Joining up with the lovely Amy from C’est La Vie to spread the fashion word. Look for me here and there…and…here. and there.

As summer passed us by and we bid it adieu, we must say thanks to American Apparel for putting out a solid scantily clad effort in their advertising. Well, as seasons change I’m sure they’ll find more creative ways to market skin over cloth, but who’s asking me anyway?

“Publish Wayne already!” – I’m getting to it I’m getting to it!

Before anyone thinks that I’ve gone AWOL (which I almost have, going into hibernation after 21 hours of work is really necessary), here’s my diddy on the happenings of THE PEEK event yesterday night (October 4, 2008, same night of NUIT BLANCHE).

It went amazing, the headcount was unbelievable (number spewing can be done in person). I have to do the biggest thank you to everyone who came out to the event, THE ARTISTS (oh the artists! You 10 are among the most talented people I know), the VOLUNTEERS, the NEW ERA STAFF (after working retail I have so much respect for what you do, and NEW ERA staff, you just have incredible spirit and personality even after doing mad overtime), and I have to thank the team at MINDZAI for working with me (Chris Tsang, Sheldon Sam, Edmond Chan, and thanks Jen Lee). Crazy work hours, having a double life, driving while Chris was in Tokyo, and so many laughs later, we’ve achieved something mind-blowing(ly good).

I met so many talented people last night, bumped into old friends and acquaintys, and whiled out to THE EATONS.

So some people might be wondering where I’ve been lately – work work work work work of all sorts. I’ve resorted to repetition, ‘dudular’ clothing (that one was for you Wayne), getting delirious after long streams of work, and laying in bed not wanting to move for long periods of time. And it all boils down to this wonderous event that’s taking place tomorrow (October 4, 2008 – 6:00pm – 12:00am at New Era).

It’s going to be a good turnout, look forward to seeing you all there! Will have pictures to follow.
