The White Tie Affair – Interview with Chris Wallace

The White Tie Affair

The White Tie Affair - I dub them the kings of summer driving music, because it’s so damn adorable to ride around to their tunes. They’ve got a Californian aura about them, yet they raise from Chicago (aka Chi-town). Recognize the name at all? TWTA’s been featured on The Hills, and they’re currently on tour with Lady GaGa. Oh, and they introduced themselves with a raunchy music video for starters (Allow Me to Introduce Myself…Mr. Right).

I got a little opportunity to chat with Chris Wallace (front man, man of the front) while they were in Kitchener playing a gig. Listen below and let me know what you think. PS. I’m not letting you guys cheat this time by reading the interview, you’re going to have to listen to the 15minute wonder (and listen to my trippy high voice).

> Check out their album Walk This Way in stores nownownow (yeah, not going to lie I’ve been looping some key tracks).

For more on The White Tie Affair, check their website and myspace. Oh yes, and they’re totally on twitter too.

See you soontimes!

Hey Folks,

Quick message de moi – by the time this gets published I won’t actually be on Canadian soil, so I wanted to say enjoy the posts that are going up within the timeframe that I’m gone and I’ll be back at it again when I’m here on Thursday. While I’m not sure how many pictures I’ll be posting of my time away (Apoon, Em and I have a pact to only allow approved photos up haha), I’ll be sure to think of you all while I’m basking on some good rays.

Things I’ll leave you with:

  • The White Tie Affair Audio is going up TONIGHT! Don’t mind my voice. Heh. Heh.
  • The winner of the CK One We Are One Contest was COURTENAY – I didn’t do a video this time because it’s slightly nerdy shaking a box in front of a camera. Trust system – I did it by a randomized excel pick (oops, nerdy). I’ll do a video soon enough to do some updates, when I get my tan on.
  • RX MUSIC is at it again, they have a Lady GaGa Just Dance and Spoon Don’t You Evah mix – check it at www.rxmusic.ca
  • I am MADLY in love with The Knife – Heartbeats, so check it on my imeem account.

That’s it! Think of me while you’re on this blog between Monday-Thursday!

xoxo,

Gloria

Aldo Bregantini

I went in search for the perfect summer shoe to transition me from the astoundingly frigid spring. I went to Browns, B2, Feet First, Stoneridge, Nine West, Icon, Forever 21, Spring, Soft Moc, Le Chateau – all in hopes of finding the one. Strangely enough, I ended up back at Aldo (yes, I know I must be supporting one of their stores with the volume I buy from there). The Bregantini’s are a pleasant little number when worn, I love the structure and the comfort (yes, suede bottoms). Do they confuse you (as Wayne says of them)? Get used to it – because you’ll be seeing more raves about these pups.

A quickie mention – these are for my radient-ray absorption on the beach (aka one of the many things I’m bringing to my sunny vacation). Also worth noting – content might not be super up to date b/c I’m out pretty much all week (until next Thursday), as I’m jetting off with two gals from university (one who would draw comics with me while not paying attention in accounting, and the other who taught me sex sells when it comes to energy gum).

Let me know what you think – toodles!

Jessica Mary Clayton

White is pleasant all year round – and Jessica Mary Clayton has completely embraced the sentiment. Gaining some well deserved exposure through Mass Exodus and Toronto Alternative Fashion Week (she showed on April 21st, 2009), JMC has created a gorgeous collection of crisp whites, neat pleats, and ruffles in all the right places. Classy and classic, with a tinge of victorian. Clayton embraces romance in her line.

Want more? Find her on Facebook and get in the know (yup, it’s tightly exclusive now!)

Threadless.com – Buy a Tee Plant a Tree

Threadless Buy a Tee Plant a Tree

I’m a strong advocate for t-shirts with a cause (yeah yeah, I know you’ll never really catch me in a graphic t-shirt unless I’m sheepishly running errands), but I think this is a grand one. Threadless.com (our favourite social-tshirt-website) is going hard at the issue of the environment for this lovely week. Thirteen new shirts with an eco-flavour have been introduced to promote a greener lifestyle (or just being hilariously green). What’s more is that this week they’re running with a campaign where they will donate $1.00 per t-shirt sale to Plant a Billion, an organization that enables tree plantage (yes, I made up a verb) for – guess what – $1.00. Essentially, if Threadless.com sells 20,000 shirts this week, we’ll enjoy 20,000 beautiful new trees planted.

A healthy environment is quintessential – get active and get green!
