I was put into the know about the Style Advisory Council (a group of fashion in-the-knows) by Miss Bailey. Captured by the image alone (by the very talented Danielle Meder of Final Fashion), their upcoming themed event Texstyle: Androgyny has me captivated by the era. Take on the classics, the beautiful clean lines and shapes, and take a peek at this event happening on June 4th, 2009. Details? Get aware here.

Well, accordingly to many phrases everything is the new black. But really and truly, rompers have made a large splash in the retail market for their intense comfort (sounds like an oxymoron, rest assured it is not) and all around ease of wear.

Just a few I’ve mangled out:

1. Only Hearts Romper – ShopBop.com: On sale for half the usual price, this soft heather grey romper calls out for you to get it for the weekends.

2. Lace Trim Romper – Forever 21: I’ll admit, I tried to buy the cornflower blue …

Here we go – it’s one of those contemplative posts that you’re all so fond of. As I tap this out frantically prior to jetsetting downtown, I’m here to say that I’m thankful for all that I have. In the last half-year I’ve been able to make several dramatic shifts (despite what judgements people bestowed upon me), did some writing, did some band-interviewing, did some social networking and job role-assumptions, and met some astounding people like Wynne, Carole/Sushi, Carolyn Van, Work Folk, and Skanny (plus entourage). As some of my …

I’ve been coveting this dress for a little while, and ever since I had my cupcake hangfest with CarolynVan I’ve been obsessing over dresses (it’s been a day). Regardless, this dress came across my mind again, and I couldn’t believe that I had managed to find Lily Allen’s get up from Acne Jeans (Baroque Dress). On sale from $1,089.64 to $360.59 (uhm, well, if you put it that way it looks like an utter steal), this little diddy is now available in a whopping one size (4). Hurts. Anyway, glad …

I am by no means a brand hohoho, but I’ve been blathering on and on about acquiring a new pair of jeans. Literally, the last time I purchased a pair were my True Religions (which oh yes, I so diligently documented – ps, take that alliteration, take that). Saturday was a nifty time downtown (can I mention that I paid a hefty $17 to park at Yonge and Bloor – I don’t think pockets can hurt more than that) with Carole, where I took the plunge. The recent welcome of …

With a name like “hanky top”, you can’t help but garner a few giggles and good intrigue. The Maj Hanky top well suits my preferences for tops as of late – flowy (haha, why must I use such action words), well-patterned, and asymmetrical. Donned by my favourite celebo fashionista Nicole Richie, this shirt is a go-to for casual summer versatility.

A tinge hilarious (that seems to be the buzzword as of late) – but I love how there’s the unnerving familiarity between brands and retailers sometimes (lest Aldo lifted this lovely design). If you have no idea what I’m talking about, basically I purchased identical cage sandals from Aldo deemed the BREGANTINIS (click for post), only to find today from my daily spam-out from UrbanOutfitters that Kimchi Blue makes nearly the same goods (except fully leather). Just another keen daily observation, now we have options! (clap…clap)

And the hilarity ensued – wes2u.com (a line that I’ve profiled oh so recently) has a great offering for the male with the go-hard-attitude. If you’re able to strike up some bold conversation about the flashing animated images on your frontal area, I definitely recommend the investment. The company’s LiTee line uses “electroluminescent technology” which lights up and flashes to the beat of the music (so you’ll never be caught off beat). Quality tee, interchangeable front, battery operated, and offered in 10 designs, you’d be crazy not to pick it …

Always dressing To The Nines is not an option – it’s a necessity. What better way to address that than with a line whose mantra is the same. Hailing from Van city, To The Nines Clothing is equal mix of skater/surf/snow, streetwear, and has the ability to cater to a punk and hip-hop fan base. Their first collection has launched for F/W 09 – mucho more to come from the brand.

The thing I’m diggin more about this is that the shirts have a bit more of a graphic element to …
