There’s nothing I love more than when Fashion and Charity collide for a good cause. Case in point: Jimmy Choo and the Elton John AIDS Foundation, who have partnered up to launch Project PEP, a charity collection that donates 25% of sales to the Simelela Rape Centre in South Africa. Supporting the launch is a social media campaign featuring an online photo competition with the theme “You, Your Shoes and 72″, which Jimmy Choo Founder, Tamara Mellon calls “a fun, light-hearted way to make people aware of a very serious subject.” The rules are simple – be as creative as you like and take a photo to do with you, your shoes and the number 72 (representative of the critical first 72 hours within exposure to HIV that the vital life saving PEP medication must be administered).
And the prizes? Generous. Over 100 exclusive Jimmy Choo prizes will be awarded, with 1 lucky overall winner receiving the Grand Prize of 7 pairs of shoes and 2 handbags.
The competition closes on December 7, so get the camera out, start getting creative and show support for this great cause.

The EATONS played at Edge 102.1 yesterday night to an open crowd at 9pm. The venue was packed, the music was good, and it was overall good times. These guys are not only hilariously fun and talented, but are well deserving of winning Edge 102′s Indie online voting contest. Their new EP is expected in January 2010, but in the meantime, play it all out on their MYSPACE.
Rachel, Dynamite‘s muse, has arrived. A popular avenue that many retailers are taking is delving into the enchanting world of fragrances. There’s something incredibly powerful about completing the sensory experience of a store. When you step into any store, you’re immediately overwhelmed with visuals, items to graze, music to listen to, not often taste (but hey, sometimes when we’re lucky), and now smell.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make it to the Rachel launch event, but from the looks of it, it launched with a bang (and bang). The product is available in three deliveries – 50ml spray ($29.90), a 10ml rollerball ($14.90), and a body cream in 125ml ($15.90). Astounding price points, and I do have to say that it’s a striking fragrance (top notes – lemon verbena and apple leaves, mid notes – white cedar, jasmine, and freesia, low notes – blonde woods, palissander, clear amber). My only commentary about the packaging is that the rollerball is strikingly like the Stella McCartney perfume rollerball. But I have to say, that this refreshing scent trumps the wildly musky one of the Stella offering.
Also have to shed love to the fact that Rachel is on Twitter – twitter.com/rachel_dynamite. I’m big on the personification of brands, and this is definitely an appealing way to do it.

This melts my heart. Danier Leather has produced one of the most beautiful, magical, delightful video to embrace their winter collection. So gorgeously created, that it would appear every single frame could be a perfect portrait.
The video spells out: textures, accessories, volume, and most importantly – stylish leathers.
Enjoy “Love at First Frost”.

More awesomeness from Justin Wu, this time in collaboration with friend Jerome. They say experimentation is key – photography blended with graphic arts is an experiment gone well. I’m not too sure how much more glamourous than “this photo was shot on the rooftops of Paris with clothes sourced from Damir Doma F/W 09″. V. V. Cool.
