BB Cream – Product Review
I’ve been more than mildly obsessed with BB Cream – I’ve found that I typically like to smother myself in shopping, but this time around it’s been all about the research. So here are a few things to think about when you’re on your way to the perfect winter complexion.

Simple, accessible – I call this one the “beginners BB cream”. Just like I was with skinny jeans (oh, how wrong wrong wrong I was), going a little more budget friendly with a drug store brand carries no shame. This is a light formulation that comes in a good variety of shades for the ladies. Five colours, natural finish, most beautifully applied with a brush, this is a one step wonder with eight benefits (blurs imperfections, brightens, evens skin tone, smoothes, hydrates, enhances, SPF 30, and oil-free). Easy for day to day application with finger tips, the only downside of this one being that I do find it a bit liquidy, as opposed to typical beauty balms that have a fantastic powder finish. Find it at Shoppers Drug Mart.
MAC always seems to do things right, this professional grade bottle of goodness is lightly tinted with a creamy texture. SPF 35 to boot – this is a great product that comes in a sizeable quantity. While the North American BB creams tend to stray from the traditional Asian formulations, MAC has been credited with being one of the closer products to the beloved category. Three colours allow for a good range of day-to-day coverage and wear. Available at MAC!
I adore this brand, very much so recently with the chubby stick formulations (you have to try these while you’re looking around for a BB Cream). Three shades with targeting undertones (perfect, because I have yellow undertones) – this product reviewed beautifully for its age defense qualities, mattifying qualities, and natural finish. This is a great product at a fair price point that can be picked up from The Bay alongside some helpful service (always a plus when picking a shade or trying it on prior to purchase).
I was hearing raves about this product – and rightfully so. It’s a fantastic coverage product with all of the fixings – five shades, oil-controlling, SPF 35, and reduces the visibility of lines. The only thing being that it requires a good amount of blending (as with anything, really), but it dries beautifully and provides long lasting coverage (we’re talking 8+ hours). Downsides are sunscreen smell, and the size of the product (though, in its defense, you don’t need much per application). Pick it up at Sephora or even Shoppers Drug Mart (my fave).
