Volume. It’s absolutely key with my scarf selection these days. And what better timing did Kyla Leslie of kove have when her email about her incredible scarves blasted into my inbox. Another slight spurt of luck came upon me when I realized that we were both in the same magical place that was Vancouver. With that said, we had the chance to meetup and chat about the story behind the stunning knit pieces.
They’re warm, they’re fuzzy, they’re outrageously the rage, and handcrafted with love on the west coast. kove is …

Confession time: I am beginning to loathe winter. Wool socks and snow boots are cramping my style and my toesies are craving some luxury. With spring just around the corner (erm…almost…right?), Jimmy Choo is launching a special collection of updated classics called CHOO 24:7. Whether you’re a pointy-toe pump or a functional-flat kind of girl, Mr. Choo’s new collection will complete your perfect shoe wardrobe…almost. As if any shoe wardrobe is ever complete!
My faves from the collection include the glittery flat and the heeled gladiator sandal. Swoon.
Now if you’ll excuse …

Rebel against that super expensive, conventional heart shaped, silver necklace this Vday and pop on over to Made You Look Jewellery Studio and Gallery, and Made You Look Accessories for some original jewellery inspired by love. Both places, located on Queen West, represent more than 100 local, self-employed jewellery designers and carry everything from the high-end goods to the more affordable, unique, handmade designs. My pick goes to the Glass Heart Pendants made from hand-blown glass by Aimee Kennedy of Fine and Good. These beauts are available in red, black …

Welcome, Alice. Swarovski’s done a capsule collection to trot along with the release of the new Alice in Wonderland movie by Disney. Capturing the spirit of A.I.W, the line is representative of the movie through its vintage and gothic tones. Sifting through oh so many pieces and much marveling later, I watched the official trailer again on small-screen (aka laptop) and it only reaffirmed that Swarovski has done a stellar job capturing the sentiment in the collection. My favourite? The Round Hall Key from the White Rabbit selection ($130.00). I’ve …

While I have mixed feelings about method products themselves (love the aesthetic, love the premise), while jumping on their blog I found this great do-it-yourself bit on eco-friendly, hipster scarves. A stringy wonder bunched at the neck, these scarves make for a great accessory and are beyond easy to create. A little spaghetti like and a little unconventional, but plenty original. The steps below.
1. grab some cotton t-shirts you don’t wear anymore. larger sizes tend to work better as do non-ribbed shirts with no side seams. small logos on the …

The Twittersphere is a great place – how else would I have met the lovely Kimberly Mae from v:space Studio? I was sent some beautiful samples of their stunning and graphics-rich creative cards for the season, I wish I was able to post earlier (but due to extreme busy-ness, I wasn’t able to). But if you still have cards to send out or share, then definitely hit them up for these (or look them up during the year whenever you have a little note to send to someone). I really …

You can now add Thomas Sabo to the never-ending list of names who’ve collaborated with the world’s most beloved (plastic) fashion icon. Celebrating Barbie’s big 5-0, the jewellery label is introducing a collection of specially designed Charms aptly titled “Barbie cult”, for its Autumn/Winter 2009 Charm Club Collection . Fit for only the girliest of girly girls, charms include a tube of glittery lipstick, a stylish handbag with the letter B, and the iconic Barbie profile stamped on a silver heart… and oh ya, did I forget to mention the …

Spotted: Little Jenny Humphrey sporting Jenny Bird jewels on the streets of Manhattan. Who would have thought this innocent looking cobra would cause such a stir?
Jenny Bird designs are quickly becoming a must-have for stylistas around the globe thanks to an appearance on Gossip Girl last month. Produced locally in Toronto, the designs are 100% original, born from Jenny’s own pencil and paper renderings.
The newest Serpent Jewels pieces are equal parts stunning and smirk-worthy, plated with 24 carat gold, and complete with head & tail clasps. On my wish list …

Jessica Jensen is a fantastic bag designer. Her pieces have stunning textures, weaves, waves, and more. What’s more is that she’s extended her great eye to encompass six pieces in a capsule collection made of cotton sateen. Romantic and hazy imagery has my heart sold on her beautiful dresses.
Looking for a price list? See these images here. Jessica Jensen’s been a busy one, with an event prior to fashion week, involvement in Shadowbox, and upcoming holiday sale (November 6 + 7 at the Gladstone Hotel, up to 75% off). An …
