The Pink Side

Posted by Shanice on February 6th, 2012 - Leave a Comment

As Valentines Day quickly approaches, it’s hard to ignore the colour pink in all it’s overbearing tones. It’s not until you see every store front and restaurant covered in the stuff do you quickly realize what side of the war you’re on. Are you a hopeless romantic or romance’s biggest hater?

The recent collection of Versace‘s pastel pink timepieces (in my cynical opinion) are the perfect symbol to the world that you indeed love love and they’ve arrived just in time for V-day. Each one features a healthy sprinkling of diamonds, a genuine crocodile or alligator strap and mother of pearl detailing.

I will definitely be wearing a black watch on February 14th, but if you choose to pick up one, or even better your significant other just happens to surprise you with one, I’m happy for you…really.

Watches range from $1,295 to $4,500.

Moustache Madness

Perhaps thanks to the popularity of Movember, I’ve developed a strange fondness for moustaches. What’s weirder is that I don’t actually like ‘staches on men. Let’s face it, Tom Selleck and Burt Reynolds are really the only men who can pull off a furry upper lip.

Lucky for me and other moustache aficionados, the mouth brow seems to be popping up in all kinds of non-facial places. Here are some of my favourite moustachio’d accessories. What other furry goodies have you come across?

1. Mustache Bandages, Urban Outfitters
2. Mustache Mug, Urban Outfitters
3. Fingerstache Tattoo, Chapters Indigo
4. Mustache Paper clips, Chapters Indigo
5. Adhesive Mustaches, Drake General store
6. Mustache Ring, Etsy

Jessica Jensen Collection 2012 @jessica_jensen

What I love most about Jessica Jensen handbags are that they’re elegantly understated. They won’t overshadow an outfit or steal attention away from it – instead, they’ll nicely compliment what you wear (and isn’t that what accessories are truly meant to do anyways?)

The Canadian handbag maven is launching a new collection for 2012, which includes three distinct groups: Collection Classics, Metropolitan Metallics and Urban Basics. The styles are simple and the colours neutral, so they easily work into any outfit.

My pick out of the bunch? The metallic woven leather handbag in a rich brown. It’s exactly the type of purse I picture myself wearing when i’m trying to pull off a more sophisticated version of me (a.k.a. when I’m going to work).

Alexander Wang- Luca Lace-Up Suede Ankle Boots

Posted by Abby Ho on January 6th, 2012 - Leave a Comment

Ok, so I just broke my New Year’s Resolution: #3- no more shoes. But when I drafted this late 2011, it clearly made an exception for 50% off Alexander Wang Ankle Boots!!! Right? Right? Ok, maybe not…but who could resist?

I have been eyeing this awesome ankle boots since I spotted them at Jonathan+Olivia on Ossington Ave, Toronto late last summer. But low and behold, the very last pair (yay size 5) were still patiently waiting for me, post boxing day mark downs! It’s fate! The suede boots are an off grey meets cammo green color and match wonderfully with a flowy blouse and skinny jeans for work and weekend. After a careful spray of  winter waterproofing treatment, they are perfect for fall to early winter walking. The boots have a comfy 4 inch thick wooden heel, cushioned sole, lace-up and buckle details create the perfect harmony between girly and utilitarian. Wearing these awesome booties in the grey Toronto weather  really helps put the kick back into my step.

O clock – Newest Watch Obsession

Posted by Gloria Chik on December 29th, 2011 - Leave a Comment

We did it. Matching watches for all – sort of. O clock is the latest discovery in my trek for all things watches and original. Reminding me slightly of the Movado bold (though we know we’re not comparing apples to apples), the O clock watches are an original silicone, unisex set of watches. The full initial set is approximately $50, each part being $25. You can mix and match infinitely with the variety of faces, with new ones coming out like mirrored faces and camoflauge. The brand hails from Milan, all of the products are Italian designed. While the silicone isn’t my favourite material (it attracts dust, don’t care what anyone says), I’m quite fond of the minimalistic feel and ease of wear (it really doesn’t feel like anything). The one I’m wearing is called “water blue” (aka teal).
