Hey! Ho! Let’s go. No seriously, let’s go. It’s CONTACT Photo time – the time when the city culture explodes into extreme photogenic wonderment. I loved my last experience diving into exhibit after exhibit with TTC day pass in hand (that’s right, I went there). Above? A trailer from talented friend Shingo Shimizu, of SCION infamy and his collabo with Jalani Morgan.

A snap from awhile ago – Paper Eyelashes that I spotted from Noir Lash Lounge, in Yaletown Vancouver. Not sure how you’d go about applying them (they’re a little more novelty than I’d assume), but thought it was worth a good share and care. My, I’m going to need to get some nicer photos.
I often imagine that a perfect Sunday afternoon would involve a trip to the theatre and this past weekend I did just that by indulging in a performance of The Secret Garden. Based on a book of the same name (one of my favourite childhood books, if I may add), the two-hour performance included just the right amounts of drama, quick humour and sing-song-y entertainment.
Despite the sometimes-melancholy mood of the show, a few amazing musical numbers and a happy ending keep the show balanced. Coupled with some creative set design and some insanely talented young theatre prodigies, The Secret Garden is one incredibly charming production. Not a bad way to spend a day at the theatre!
The Secret Garden plays at Toronto’s Royal Alexandra Theatre until March 19th. Book your tickets today at www.mirvish.com
In keeping with my Type A personality, I often organize my life into a series of lists. Besides the practical advantages (who doesn’t love a good To-Do list?) I often find it’s a good way to keep track of all the things I need, like or loathe (e.g. the “Fashion Trends I despise” list). Luckily, a fellow list-lover with a creative streak developed my latest obsession: Listography, a guided journal to map out your life in lists. (Side note: want to see how many times I can say “list” in this post?)
Besides the obvious subjects, like best friends and favourite food, you can find some quirky list ideas like Greatest Acts of Kindness and Guiltiest Pleasures (1. Shoes 2. Manicures 3. Whoopie Pies.). Other editions of this clever journal are devoted to making lists about music, the future and love…aww.
Visit listography.com to learn more and view their full range of list journals. Journals can be purchased at Urban Outfitters or Chapters/Indigo.
