I’m back from the real world – exams have ended and I apologize for the delay in posts and fresh material. Following the conclusion of exams, I went shopping. Over and over again. Likely for three consecutive days, but I was so dazed at the end of it that I’m not sure how long it really was anymore.

I managed to relinquish my former overindulgence of denim. When I was in Grade 9, I bought my first pair of jeans of over $20.00 from Jean Machine. Ringing in at approximately $99.00 CAD for a pair of Silver Jeans bell buttons, I started a slow but steady inclination to purchasing nice denim. The new affixations for myself would be Rock and Republics (those paper-thin fiends), Seven for All Mankind (who even wants to dissect the meaning of that name), and the newest acquisition being True Religions.

The Julie Skinnies won the toss up against a pair of Citizens of Humanity (stop with the dramatic brand names). They’re a comfortable material, great fit, and despite my tongue-lashing about the pocket design making my backside look as if it was smiling, I grew a rare affection for these strange beauties. Is overpriced denim justified? I don’t know – you tell me (and boys, be nice.)

Second: We asked around to see what people thought about UrbaneBloc and the general consensus was that we needed more Unique content and a compilation of actual pieces. It’s time to truly recognize why we love fashion – for the love of colour, looks, styles, and the way fantastic pieces take your breath away. Time to change the way we look at how to put things together and push the envelope.

ALSO: Unique photography. I haven’t had the chance yet to get out to capture street fashions, but will definitely make a point to, so look out for that starting during the Holidays.
