Volume. It’s absolutely key with my scarf selection these days. And what better timing did Kyla Leslie of kove have when her email about her incredible scarves blasted into my inbox. Another slight spurt of luck came upon me when I realized that we were both in the same magical place that was Vancouver. With that said, we had the chance to meetup and chat about the story behind the stunning knit pieces.
They’re warm, they’re fuzzy, they’re outrageously the rage, and handcrafted with love on the west coast. kove is …

One of the first things I had to do when finding out that I was going to Vancouver was to tweet up some of the girls that I had been in contact with because of the blog world. Lucky me got to meet up with Erica Lam (@thestylespy), Megan (@meganfm), Kelsey (@theanthology) and Minna (@thenetworkhub – not pictured!). Knowing that Guu was a stop that I had to make, we set ourselves over there for some Guu(d) times.

TNA by Aritzia is jumping on the Canadiana themes of pretty much every Canadian company out there, just in time for the Olympics. I glimpsed EZRA Constantine at the Greta Constantine show in Fall 2009 at un-fashion week. Welcome the new line – it’s the official launch for Spring/Summer 2010, shot by Mckenzie James. It’s dark, it’s gang-oriented (no, really), dark, hostile, contemporary, dark, utilitarian, and…dark. They call the pieces “pieces that form the uniform for the man of tomorrow”. I probably wouldn’t mind that if the wearer looked like these models.
Boys, thoughts?

Hey Mitts, how you doin’? It’s the Vancouver 2010 Mittens – not to get too gimmicky. And they really are snuggly good (at only $10.00 they’re really better than just “good”). Sorry for the lack of daily posting, seek this as a form of foreshadowing for the things to come. Ciao for now!

Loving how dynamic the Canadian Fashion industry is – welcome newcomer The Red Carpet Room, a showroom which houses only veteran and emerging Canadian Designers, inclusive of womenswear, menswear, and accessories for public appearances, photoshoots, or luxe events. Founded by Amanda Brugel, the business is located at the Toronto Fashion Incubator, and the website is looking mightly slick.
Looking forward to seeing more, roll out the red carpet for …the Red Carpet Room.
