You can get a delicious plate of homemade pasta all over the city. But, there’s one place in Toronto that brings you to the countryside of Italy with just a forkful of pasta (and other tasty eats). La Cascina is the closest you’ll get to Italian dining without a $1,000 plane ticket and 8-hour flight.
The Hot Docs start in Toronto this Thursday April 26th til May 6th and is North America’s largest documentary festival. Presenting 189 documentaries from Canada and around the world, covering subjects from art, addiction, capitalism, to science technology, music, and everything in between.
Though the Hot Docs might not be as glamorous or as sexy as the star-studded TIFF festival in the summer, I find the doc’s season far more rewarding and FAR more inclusive.

Always a blast to go to the SHARP Book for men events – they’ve always been such a blast in the past. Being that it’s literally every man’s kingdom / paradise / mancave / whatever you want to call it, it was always a pleasure to try to pry into the coveted men’s-everythings season to season.
Shoes shined, hair lined, wined and dined (by Oliver and Bonacini’s no less), the event was some sort of end to end glory. Some kind of marvelous if you ask me. Everything from when we stopped in to settle in a Porsche (don’t laugh at our photos, we’re geeks), to leaving with two bags in hand (heavy ones, thanks Mankind!)…this was an event that even a girl’s girl can appreciate.
Digging this poster – nice work, Muttonhead! There’s something so wonderfully kitschy about the idea of a travelling market. Ladies and Gents, come one and come all to check it out – Canadian made goods that are ready for the taking. ;) This shalt receive the urbanebloc.com team stamp of approval.
See you there!
