One of the first things I had to do when finding out that I was going to Vancouver was to tweet up some of the girls that I had been in contact with because of the blog world. Lucky me got to meet up with Erica Lam (@thestylespy), Megan (@meganfm), Kelsey (@theanthology) and Minna (@thenetworkhub – not pictured!). Knowing that Guu was a stop that I had to make, we set ourselves over there for some Guu(d) times.
Food was delicious and the company was grand – so great meeting you …

While I have mixed feelings about method products themselves (love the aesthetic, love the premise), while jumping on their blog I found this great do-it-yourself bit on eco-friendly, hipster scarves. A stringy wonder bunched at the neck, these scarves make for a great accessory and are beyond easy to create. A little spaghetti like and a little unconventional, but plenty original. The steps below.
1. grab some cotton t-shirts you don’t wear anymore. larger sizes tend to work better as do non-ribbed shirts with no side seams. small logos on the …

Some of you may have noticed that I have some other writers contributing here and there, one of them being the very amazing Karizza Sanchez. Having started on her journey towards becoming a journalist (congratulations!) this ambitious writer asked to do a profile on me for newly launched Elliot Mag. I know you guys are probably done with seeing this picture (sign that I need new ones!) but the content is oh-so-different. Also check out in the Issue Your Best Friend, up and coming vid-makers.
Karizza, you flatter me! Check out …

I’ve always marveled at Yulanda’s ceaseless photography talent, and impressive eye for classic style. If I’m ever to answer the question “what style blogs do you follow” or something to that extent, I’m always sure to mention Yulanda (little thoughts).
This post is for Yulanda in hopes of her getting better (in response to her announcement on her blog).
We’ll have that Joe Fresh session yet. To a healthy recovery.

I met Danielle Meder of Final Fashion fame two years ago at an event she used to organize called the Toronto Fashion Bloggers Brunch. When she asked me if I would be able to do a Fashion Blog Karma profile for her website, I had a little internal giddiness. Her talent is boundless as a fashion illustrator, definitely take a look at her website for the Q&A avec moi.
Another profile was published today, by Shweta Wahi from SOLACE (she’s the young designer whose Q&A I still have to publish!) Check …

Congratulations to Anita Clarke from iwantigot.geekigirl.com for being profiled in Holt Renfrew windows in Vancouver and Toronto! It’s so amazing to see what the power of the blogger has done to fashion. Check the rest of the photos from her unveiling here.
Keep rockin’ it!

A lot of social media and blog love as of lately – however, coming from Holt Renfrew is quite a surprise. The retailer is set to showcase windows inspired by famous bloggers, without their inputs (eeps). I call PR stunt.
Something to aspire to? I think so. I’m seeing more and more bloggers being featured by retailers, asking for their editorial input, and overall having a freaking awesome time. Hi, if anyone owns a store and is reading this, please like me. Just a little? <3

So rather than giving in and watching the MMVAs (I don’t condone! Though I hear a lot about Lady GaGa and fireboobs), I decided to read up about inspiring people. I came across in Urban Outfitters’ “About a Girl” section Molly Young, someone way further along the path to self-definition than I see myself. I was riveted by how our lives were somewhat paralleled (of course, I’m much less cool). The girl is an emerging powerhouse, and I see mirroring story lines. If you know me, and you read this …

I love seeing what NDEUR is up to all the time – first vintage shoes, then wood, now paper. Always innovative, never predictable, this talent’s going places. First stop? Kanye West’s blog – KanyeUniverseCity. We were lucky to showcase this guy at the last THE PEEK, goes to show we’ve got our eyes on the rising talent ;)
Keep killing it Matthieu!

If you’re on the social media circuit you’ll likely have heard of the Waffle Girls already – they’re a quirky bunch of ladies that know how to create a buzz. Known for random thoughts, actions, and styling, these girls have got that special charisma that makes something potentially awkward into something spectacular. I’m not going to lie though – I’m mostly confused when I see and hear what they’re up to, but that’s likely part of the charm. It’s a fun looksee, non?
Check their lookbook here.
