Over 100 new photographs will be presented in person, and complemented by an online social media presence. Admittedly, I had to watch the videos a couple times …

Shannon Theresa Boodram is one of the most vibrant and warm people I’ve ever met. Former track-star, host and associate producer of a Rogers TV series, journalist, photographer, and now published author – she’s got the world and then some. I preface this posting with the skinny mini on what it’s about – Shannon Boo is the author of LAID: Young People’s Experiences with Sex in an Easy-Access Culture.
I spotted the stunning talent featured in an article for the Toronto Star when doing some digging for my day job. I’m …

I was plenty in awe when I jumped onto PACKED by franx, a blog that stemmed from the artist’s desire to draw one non-work related image a day. The illustrations are equal parts intricate and astounding. I absolutely love the edge, the comic-nature, and fashion-savvy stylings of the characters. Love the boundless inspiration housed within this recently created blog. I’d love to mirror some of these girls even, they’re kind of raw-perfect.
Keep at it, looking forward to seeing more!

This is a little back play back, but not too far distant in the past DANIER held a design contest for Ryerson Fashion Design students to have the opportunity to have their take on the leather jacket. First place was $5,000, alongside a design that would be sold in select DANIER retail locations (talk about your big break). From the words of Jeffrey Wortsman, mister CEO:
“We at DANIER have been thrilled to be able to give students superior insight and knowledge into the world of leather; we hope that this …

Reviving the past – another from the Impromptu shoot that we did earlier in the year. Nothing like getting nostalgic about the past blindingly fast year. Model: Jenn Bo Benn, Photographer: JWu Photo.
PS: Toronto is amazingly small, I knew JWu was back in Toronto, but it took a little sneak-up-behind-in-suburban-mall-yelling-action to realize. So good to see you mate, see you soontimes!

A release on the Dentsu Outdoor Gallery (D.O.G. from here on out) landed in my urbanebloc email awhile back, and there was something about it that I couldn’t shy my eyes away from. They were inviting, colourful and sharp banners on display that held so much creative promise that I couldn’t help but revisit it time and time again in digital form. Lucky for me, I went to the source of all this inspiration and imagination, and had the opportunity to speak with Creative Director of Dentsu Canada (www.dentsucanada.com), Glen …

A little while back TEDxTO occurred, where a series of incredible people spoke out about their individual causes. No better way to wake up in a day and immerse yourself in these videos on the TEDxTalks YouTube Channel. Check the one above for Gavin Sheppard of the Remix Project (did a post about him a little while back with Marc Ecko’s I am Unlimited Project
Enjoy and inspire!

The EATONS played at Edge 102.1 yesterday night to an open crowd at 9pm. The venue was packed, the music was good, and it was overall good times. These guys are not only hilariously fun and talented, but are well deserving of winning Edge 102’s Indie online voting contest. Their new EP is expected in January 2010, but in the meantime, play it all out on their MYSPACE.
