A little while back TEDxTO occurred, where a series of incredible people spoke out about their individual causes. No better way to wake up in a day and immerse yourself in these videos on the TEDxTalks YouTube Channel. Check the one above for Gavin Sheppard of the Remix Project (did a post about him a little while back with Marc Ecko’s I am Unlimited Project

The EATONS played at Edge 102.1 yesterday night to an open crowd at 9pm. The venue was packed, the music was good, and it was overall good times. These guys are not only hilariously fun and talented, but are well deserving of winning Edge 102’s Indie online voting contest. Their new EP is expected in January 2010, but in the meantime, play it all out on their MYSPACE.

Photographer: Justin Wu
Graphic Artist: Jerome Goumard
Model: River (Major Paris)
More awesomeness from Justin Wu, this time in collaboration with friend Jerome. They say experimentation is key – photography blended with graphic arts is an experiment gone well. I’m not too sure how much more glamourous than “this photo was shot on the rooftops of Paris with clothes sourced from Damir Doma F/W 09″. V. V. Cool.

It’s really no secret that I think the world of this girl – Wynne Leung is back again with some amazing prints (these ones framed after Sarah Bareilles). There’s so much rich imagery and emotion within these cool vector drawings meshed with strong photography. I’ve got a couple hanging in my room, they’re a great reminder at how amazing and strong women are (as per this video with Jooksings way long ago mentions).
Wait and see!

Fresh Faces, Incredible People, Local Talent, Q&A »
It’s been a little while since we’ve had a stunning fresh face grace this blog – in waltzed an opportunity to interview the very lovely Rebecca Hardy. Amidst the bustlin flow of LG Fashion Week, Rebecca graciously took the time to meet with me at the ever so inconspicuous Starbucks on Queen West West (and West), slightly removed from the hectic style tent of LGFW.
Unlined notepad and no frills ballpoint pen in tow, I tip toed into the Starbucks curious as to whether or not I would be able to …

An intensely amazing track. Bliss to listen to. Sweetness for my ears. Call it what you will, Don Diablo delivers. I was looping this absurdly – 99 Fences, a track remixed and mastered by Don Diablo of Fences by Phoenix and 99 Problems from Jay-Z (how fitting that I post this after the Jay-Z concert that I had yearned to go to).
Don Diablo is a monster talent – he DJs, produces music, writes, sings, and hosts his own radio show. And directs music videos. Inspiring. Talented. A beast. The beauty …

Katrina Tuttle is a 21-year-old-Halifax native. It’s likely a typical way to introduce and preface her collection with her one line bio, but truth be told, it speaks volumes as to the nature of her talent. The Princess and the Pleat is the Spring/Summer collection for 2010, blustering with pieces that range from clean cut linen (perfect for the office) and fresh, bright coloured dresses (print and solid). Earlier in LG Fashion Week, this was definitely one of my favourite shows, because everything was so wearable and perfect for the …

Bustlin’ flow would be the right way to describe the Bustle Clothing show. I remember stepping foot into the room and being absurdly quizzical about what was going on. There was comfortable furniture strategically placed about, and a cart of drinks to paint out a casual setting for a runway show.
I have to give Bustle the utmost credit for having an entertaining segment. Attitude. Cute boys and girls. And the highlight? Most clearly it was Stacey Mckenzie, Ms. Toronto Fashion Runway Diva extraordinaire herself, strutting her stuff in a Bustle …

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and for the fourth consecutive year, GUESS Watches/GUESS Inc. has teamed up with Susan G. Komen for the Cure to present the Sparkling Pink timepiece to support the fight against this disease.
This year, 20% from the sale of each watch will be donated to the cause.
With just the right amount of shine, the watch features an understated pink crystal ribbon at the six o’clock mark, crystals around the bezel, and a chic stainless steel bracelet. There is nothing better than fashion with a purpose.

JWu is always up to something good – check out his footage from S/S 2010 and F/W 2009. I’m always in such awe at what he’s managed to accomplish in such a short period of time. A testament to the fact that if your heart is in something, you’ll rise up to the ranks.
Keep killing it JWu!
