…item. De Gemma, off of the Queen Street West Store. Typically I’m not a huge fanatic of leather items, but this one was a definite keeper (after my slip up with getting a plain white Coach wristlet with a barely-detectable logo seared into one side). Nude in colour, the wristlet is an incredibly soft exterior with a fully functional interior complete with cardholders and a zipped change compartment.
I’ll treasure it around my wrist, always.

Metro Pop Magazine was a bit of a mystery to me - I went to Chapters with the intention of finding another copy of Lula Magazine (which, since I’ve reported, has never surfaced on a bookshelf again for me), but came out with a copy of Z!nk Magazine and Metro Pop, totalling about $12.50 altogether.
My main motivator for buying Metro Pop was that it was sealed with a mysterious gift contained inside the pages. From my endless efforts to tilt and see what it was inside, I determined it was …

Riding boots have been in style since the beginning of time - but the good ones are so difficult to find. I’ve always come across the most perfect pairs on shopbop or on zappos, and the same story would always retell itself - they’re so expensive it makes me wince. Frye is a perfect example - they likely make the best equestrian style boots, but they seem to know it and capitalize on it (at about $400 a pair). Finding a perfect pair of black flat boots is hard - …

Taffeta beware - we’re coming after you.
Fairweather is flourishing and teen magazines are cluttered with imagery of overly elaborate prom/formal dresses. I’ve somewhat decided to skip out on my university formal for the sake of saving a buck, and relieving the unnecessary stress of trying to look unrealistically perfect and partaking in an expensive, contrived evening.
But that didn’t stop me from online-browsing for something I would’ve considered wearing if I had decided to go (hey, girls never stop finding excuses to shop).

Yesterday I perused through the Yorkdale Gap and found myself lost in all the amazing clothing that I never thought they sold. The day before yesterday I went to the Eaton Centre Gap and while leaving, stumbled upon my greatest find of the day - a heather gray racer back button up vest (quite a mouthful). I remember sitting in many a marketing class where the professor would drone on about how Gap has lost its market as the lower and higher end markets distinguish themselves, and the retailers in …

Tretorn is one hot brand. Their rubber boots are adorable (not as large and clunky like Hunter Boots), and their sneakers are even more worthy of a second glance. I love the crisp, fresh colours that they included in their line, and I can’t help but to stare whenever I pass them on someone’s feet or on a retailer’s shelf.
Self-proclaimed as ‘casually refined and stylishly understated’, the brand hails from Sweden and gathers inspiration from Scandanavian roots. This brand plays on colour, texture, and materials - it’s an eclectic mix …

LeSportSac always has another trick up its sleeve - this time it’s the fresh face of Stella McCartney, whom I absolutely adore. Her new line for LeSportSac has feminine patterns, some of the most gorgeous bag styles that I’ve seen in awhile, and embraces all types of lifestyles (from kids to mothers). Not only has she lent her name to a fabulous line, but she’s mirrored her lifestyle values into the collection, with all of the materials being 100% recycled. 17 of the styles hit stores later this week on …

It seems these days great things come in smaller sizes and more compact packages. Through swapping business cards, I received a couple of these teenytiny contact cards (they’re less than half the size of a standard one). I glimpsed moo.com through the Facebook application. The premise of the printing company is to produce high quality, adorable hardstock cards with high customization capabilities and low cost. They even come with leather mini-carrying cases, leading to an even larger gush factor. The only downside is that they remind me of litmus …

There’s nothing like a little patriotism - especially when it comes to fashion. ION Magazine raises from the second fashion capital of our lovely-richinnaturalresources-country, Vancouver. I was randomly cleaning my room today after much procrastination, and I dug out this bursting-with-colour-and-energy magazine.
What I love about it? That it’s free and still rocks the ‘underground’ theme (unlike the ever-familiar NYLON Magazine). The advertisements are from fairly unknown and likeable brands, and the content pertains to Indie music culture and other Canadian talent. Coverage on culture, fashion, film, music, and a comprehensive …

Mathieu Missiaen epitomizes urban art, and doodling talent in his brand NDEUR. First gaining international recognition out of Toronto, the Parisian originally teamed up with THE RAGE in Kensington Market (blogged about earlier) to create something genuine and new with his keen artistic eye. His creations include intricate street-style drawings on vintage women’s heels, sneakers, and virtually any flat surface. Rather than read the buzzwords that I’m throwing around, hear and see from himself after the jump.
