I haven’t been around much lately – apologies, apologies, I can’t seem to do it enough. And I’ll tell you why I’ve been a disappearing act. Amidst the abundance of writing, meeting with amazing people, and running around the city non-stop, I haven’t been much good at documenting.
First bit: SCION is coming to Canada – they make cool, customizable cars and are best known for their xB models (which Miss Lisa drives). Which takes me to the next point – LMC enlisted me to help with writing for the up and coming SCION Magazine, which hits soon-to-be dealerships and events in September. All to happy to have zipped off to Vancouver to help produce some written pieces and stuff ourselves silly with not only Swag and Tarts, but good Japanese food. Top photo is for the kind folks at Beyond that lent me this sweet car for a week to drive around and around to promote the upcoming release. Needless to say, this has me loving the idea of getting a carbon fiber hood, and tricked out rims (which I have affectionately started calling “REEEYMS”).
Below? A photo of the ever-so-awesome girls Patricia J and Lisa. Once I get my hands on a print copy I’ll show you guys what the spread ended up looking like.
Thanks so much to the amazing people that have helped me bustle along the way this summer. There’s still so much to tackle – I’m off to NYC next week and shortly after will be chatting up TEDxToronto. Till next post, keep cool.

Issue number 2 of one of the edgiest and most avant-garde mags to come about in a long time, PUSH IT, is an ode to the privacy of yesteryear (read: 2-3 years ago), dedicated to those of us who still make an effort to “fight for our right to [fill in the blank]”: the DEFENDERS.
How do you defend yourself? What do you do to keep things private? Is it a pair of oversized shades, blocking FB stalkers friends, claws for nails (loooove this), screening BBM (ahem-who said that)? It’s nothing new that it’s become much harder to keep your business, your business, and we could wax on for days on the topic but it’s not that kind of party. Search out the mag for some truly upper crust interpretations.
All 4 covers for this quarter were shot by photographer Frank Berlin and feature ‘fits by Frey Mudd, Maison Martin Margiela, Bottega Veneta, and the late, great Alexander McQueen.
Once an online only mag, PUSH IT is now available on newsstands worldwide, but if you can’t find it, the website is choc full of fashion, beauty, art, style, and music goodness.
Take it in.

I’m not much for her music (anymore – hey, we were all 16 year olds once), but I’m liking what NYLON‘s done to emo queen. It must be the cool lighting and the clubmaster-like frames.
It’s a magazine launch in Toronto – Dressed to Kill Magazine is new and launching during LGFW. Party it on at the Dolce Social Ballroom at 647 King Street W – RSVP is necessary. Nothing like a party on April 1 (it’s also the end of LGFW F/W 2010 tomorrow, so take advantage!)
