IKEA, you’ll love me for this.
Because I love you for this. The Grundtal has changed my life in that it’s no longer a disarray - rather than callously chucking my clothing on the floor and never again making eye contact with it, you’ve forced me to hang things up neatly.
ATTN: Fashionistas. Get one, it’ll make you sane.
That’s all!

UrbanOutfitters likes to spam me, and I like it when they spam me good. That way I get to learn that apparently I have a knack for picking up things prior to them being popular (like that time that I bought into the corset belt and everyone gave me funny looks. They were right.)
Regardless, this one was a good vote of confidence that the lomo lifestyle is re-emerging (about time those out of whack photos came back).
The premise? Lots of plastic and strange effects as a result of them …

I judged too early. Well, I also do I think mostly because I just like it and it keeps me sane. Here’s my second opinion on Elizabeth & James: it’s eclectic, it’s unexpected, and it’s definitely wearable.
Why do I have the sudden change of heart? Mostly because shopbop makes everything beautifully clear - the line has extreme fashion cred behind it. Each piece mixes high end sensibility with a dash of the unexpected.
Look at the pictures - they’ll explain it.

You were applied to baggy sweaters, atrocious bottoms, and you were heavily overexposed and capitalized on. I’m speaking of ombre, the fadey gradient pattern that we’ve seen revive itself within the last season, in all forms. Although it made me nostalgic and brought back memories of middle aged school teachers, I think it’s time to bid adieu to ombre, in as sombre fashion as we can manage.
Onwards and upwards!

Wrestling with cell phone housing and destroying two buttons is worth it. Especially when the housing doesn’t work as well as you thought, and is designed so poorly that a third button becomes a casualty, all for the name of style.
My phone blows for now, but getting rid of the 2 inch crack across my screen makes it all worth it. Check the semi-pimped, urbanebloc-brand-inclusive phone that I’m now toting.
Does anyone know a good cell phone repair man?

200 posts, one undergraduate degree, a new camera, a new job, and a new perspective later, makes me think that July 28th is a fine day to be born.
Thanks for coming to this site, and still, hang tight for some more goodness because it surely is coming in leaps and bounds.
PS: Do me a favour - de-lurk yourself and leave me a little note, so I know you’re there. Thanks!

Nothing like paying homage to the summer, like a great summer dress to throw on for a warm day out.
What kinds of choices do girls have these days for casual summer frocks? I’ve picked out a few that I liked that I’m going to highlight.
The Little Black Dress pays a visit: In this fine season it’s hard to put up with anything darker than navy, but black should certainly be given consideration. This particular one is from Kimchi&Blue, designed as a sheer dress with lace detailing and great play on …

The latest and greatest in summer tank tops trends seems to be the elaborate back design (which sucks for me, seeing as I’m always forced to wear a cardigan in frigid air conditioning. I know, hard life). Racer backs and lacy designs have rapidly moved in on all of my frequented stores (Gap, Urban Outfitters, etc), and the not-so-frequented (Limite, any other trashy club-esque retailer).
Why are they great? Because it’s a spin on the ordinary - I’m loving the simplicity of the front of a tanktop and the intricacies of …

For some reason all of the summer sales have hit retailers early this year - I don’t recall having sales until mid summer (end of July-ish). I’m not going to attempt to attribute this to an economic factor (though I’d speculate it would have to do with consumer confidence and attempts to salvage diminishing profits for the year, but uhm, you didn’t hear that from me).
Sales are virtually everywhere (and with great agitation and frustration I will share them with you). Why do I hate sales? Because I’m a person …

“But I was told it was $7.50.”
“Well it’s $7.95. It’s not that much of a difference,” the drycleaner retorted.
“It adds up - when you dry clean a lot.”
“Well, life is getting expensive,” the foreign lady said woefully.
Clothes are expensive enough, but maintaining them is becoming a nightmare. Thoughts?
