Perhaps thanks to the popularity of Movember, I’ve developed a strange fondness for moustaches. What’s weirder is that I don’t actually like ‘staches on men. Let’s face it, Tom Selleck and Burt Reynolds are really the only men who can pull off a furry upper lip.

As I close my eyes to daydream, I envision yachts sitting in crystal clear water at the base of a lush green mountain sprinkled with colourful homes. When I open my eyes, sure enough my hand is hovering over my computer mouse and I’m on a discount travel site. About to spend money I don’t have on a trip that I don’t have time to take.

Just in time, Intermix has released their resort collection, divided into four subcategories: Hot Brights, Black & White, Americana & Missoni Chic. The black and white collection being my favourite, which includes a pair of white Rag&Bone tuxedo pants made exclusively for Intermix! Put away any thoughts of fanny packs and Hawaiian shirts, these beautiful creations are what we’re meant to wear while on holiday.

I had the grand pleasure of attending a SeCe Apparel gifting lounge at Andrew Richard Designs, featuring a spring/summer collection of apparel that could floor anybody. An abundance of gorgeous items on display with fresh merchandising and even fresher duds and racks and racks of goods…had me in near tears with how much I was able to explore and snap photos of.

Some key items that caught my eye – soft leather bustier dress, bright printed structured dress, and wildly beautiful leather embedded hardware rings that were large and in charge (oversized). Things I would yearn to wear come warmer weather.

Some absolutely incredible items were on display. Shockingly posh UGG Australia shoes were up to bat (ostrich pumps), colourful Seven for All Mankind jeans, ultra soft windbreaker / anoraks, and soft wispy shirts. I had fun just getting lost in the colours and textures of Spring 2012.

I picked up an Eileen Fisher beaded tank top (nice and heavy), 7 for all Mankind skinny jeans, and a House of Harlow transparent tribal dress. Stunning and so wearable.

Acting as key make up artist for Derek Lam’s Spring 2012 collection, Tom employed the palette to create a minimalist “California girl” look that was modern as it was sexy.

I can’t say that Cognac has ever been the drink of choice for me (but then again, what twenty-something year old girl do you know that could?), yet there was something appealing about Courvoisier’s Exclusif Cognac that hooked me in. Perhaps, it was the skinny, sleek bottle it was packaged in; or the fact that it smelled light and fruity, unlike the harsh scents of other cognacs; or perhaps it was the fact that it was a “mixable” cognac, which made it seem less intimidating to my non-hard-liquor-drinking taste buds.

As expected, the first taste was sweet – a combination of vanilla and cinnamon with a slight spice – but the flavours are quick to intensify and almost immediately you feel the warmth in your throat. Taking this treat straight tasted a little too rich for a lightweight like me, so I’ll definitely need to be a little more prepared next time with some creative recipes for a mixin’ (the web has tons of them!).
