I’m going to go ahead and ignore the claims of men not being inclined to use Dove. Because we all know that men often tend to mooch beauty goodness off of their female counter parts / mates. So here’s what I propose: you accept it, and you get on board. Dove Men+Care (well, in short, Dove Men) has launched and it’s playing off of the aforementioned idea. And I like it. It’s fresh smelling, it’s masculine enough to offset the Dove name, and they genuinely have some good offerings (well, maybe not the clean-tool. Get to that in a bit).
The products are priced so reasonably you’ll think AXE Effect. The line is multi-functional (body AND face wash? Really?)
Learn more about the products and win your own jersey + package as pictured after the jump.
The Dove Men+CareTM campaign is designed to celebrate men who feel comfortable in their skin, open the dialogue about the journey it takes for men to achieve that comfort, and the challenges they may face along the way.
And according to Dove research:
+ Most men’s advertising portrays the ideal man as rich, or power hungry, or sports stars or ladies’ men. But this doesn’t ring true with real men. In fact, ONLY 6% OF MEN GLOBALLY STRONGLY AGREE THAT THEY ARE REALISTICALLY PORTRAYED IN ADVERTISING.
+ Men who are comfortable in their own skin do not view money or possessions as their most attractive qualities – according to men, their most attractive qualities are personality and sense of humor. In fact, ONLY 1% OF MEN GLOBALLY WHO ARE COMFORTABLE IN THEIR OWN SKIN VIEW MONEY OR POSSESSIONS AS THEIR MOST ATTRACTIVE QUALITIES.
+ Men become comfortable in their own skin through their life experiences, major milestones such as having children and getting married and personal achievements along the way. In fact, 92% OF FATHERS GLOBALLY ARE MORE COMFORTABLE BECAUSE THEY’VE HAD CHILDREN. AND 89% OF MEN IN A COMMITTED RELATIONSHIP SAID FINDING A PARTNER WAS KEY TO BECOMING COMFORTABLE WITH WHO THEY ARE.
Want to try them? Win your own DOVE Men’s Jersey + full fledged kit (as pictured) from your friends at urbanebloc.com. All you have to do? Comment on this post and tell me what you think being a DOVE kind of man is. Zat’s all. Accepting comments until March 7th, 2010, one entry per person, only for Canadian Residents.
I stock my bathroom with mini soaps liberated from Hotel rooms.
Clearly I need to become a Dove man…
I think being a Dove kind of man is all good. Women had their natrually beauty campaign, I think it’s time for a natrually man campaign. That’s what Dove brings, the other side of men products not just involved in getting the girl like all the rest. And personally Dove is a trusted brand by many so it’s great to see them expanding their line-up and get into the men products rat race, should be interesting.
Being a Dove man means not being embarrassed to admit that you love free stuff. Or being a woman who is not a man who admits that she would like to try these mans’ products.
Being a dove man is being comfortable on your own skin, knowing what your skin needs
and being gentle. Also willing to try new things because your fiancée suggests it :)
I think being a Dove Man means many different things. Its the culmination of years of experience, self discovery, self assessment and finding out who you truly are.
It means being comfortable in your own skin, regardless of the situation and what others may think.
It means being that perfect partner; a man who knows how not only to care, but to show that he cares.
Its about wanting to take care of yourself, for your own sake. It goes hand-in-hand with being comfortable in your own skin, and taking good care of that skin starts with a discovery of what a man’s skin needs to stay looking and feeling it’s best.
These are all awesome – keep them coming ;)
Being a Dove man is a man who knows the importance of taking care of himself. He isn’t looking to get caught looking in the next ‘chic’ wardrobe, but he is aware of himself and is comfortable with it. He is self-made, self-aware, and self-confident.
In line with the natural beauty Dove Women campaign this is going to be great for Dove. Agreeing with the post I have to use some womens products which is not the funnest to shop for lol. Love this idea guys, keep it up! Being a Dove man is being comfortable in taking care of yourself while using a mainstream product finally made for men.
All the comments so far are really great.
Job well done fellas.
I just wanted to add that it’s about time a company offers these kinds of products to guys without trying to hit us over the head with the next exotically-named body spray and how said body spray will ‘attract the babes’
jus’saying.

Being a Dove man is simply, embracing the idea of being clean period. Without taking heed to notions of being feminine, or even caring…but taking solace in the fact that you are clean, and feel great about it and one’s self.

I think that DOVE kind of man is the everyday man… someone who gets up and works to provide for their family. They want to get clean in the shower and then get on with their day.
Dove man sounds like a bird that’s been spliced with male human DNA and is somewhat of a beast, at the end of the day it just needs something effective to cleanse it’s wings and attract it’s Belle. Or to keep it’s Belle happy to avoid sleeping on the couch :)
Being a Dove man means not being bothered by being associated with a “feminine” brand name.
A Dove Man is the kind of man who no longer has to use Dove products in secret. Now he can actually tell his friends he has been using Dove soap for years. On top of that, he can say that
