The only thing that keeps me from being depressed because of the weather is seeing the spring/summer collections that never shy away from being too colourful. Fred Perry’s 2011 collection is no exception.

Known for its iconic Laurel Wreath logo for nearly 70 years, Fred Perry has gone beyond enticing us with Easter and bubblegum colours. Amy Winehouse and renowned British designer Richard Nicoll have joined the roster.

We hear Winehouse’s turned to the Hawaiian prints for inspiration. In addition to coconut buttons, you can count on seeing an image of the singer as a hula girl making an appearance. In my humble opinion, that’s how you get someone out of the winter blues.

If Winehouse and Hawaiian prints aren’t your cup of tea, fret not.  Nicoll’s collaboration with Fred Perry combines the femininity derived from portraits of 1950s teddy girls and the traditionally masculine of the design house’s style. You’ll find pointelle cardigans with pearl Laurel brooches on the one hand and sport jerseys with piqué and brocade cotton on the other hand. In other words, there’s something for everyone.
