How excited was I to see Bustle S/S 2011 at LG Fashion Week! I love men’s wear and really wished more men in Toronto would take a cue from the runway and embrace sharp cuts, bold prints, and colour (not that you all don’t look good, but you can switch it up a bit every now and then).
Shawn Hewson and Ruth Promislow did as expected, and put a on a show that did not disappoint. It was a feast for the senses with a live performance by Toronto rock band Die Mannequin (thank you for stepping out of the box), fun colours from the blazers to the socks, and a few female models to add to the show’s sex appeal – I think few men would disagree that not many things are hotter than seeing a woman in just your dress shirt. There was one model who was way too fierce for Toronto and needs to be taken international ASAP, if she hasn’t been already (Renee Thompson I believe).
Bustle was part prep, part rock, all swagger and took men’s wear to a level that will be seen only sparingly on the streets of Toronto, but was wonderful for fashion’s sake.
