I was spoiled earlier this week by Mark’s (formerly Mark’s Work Wearhouse). I think I’m always overexcited and overly eager when a seemingly traditional brand undergoes a transformation to compete in the modern day. It’s a bit of a shame how there’s a common set perception of the Canadian Tire clothing arm, but it’s fantastic that their PR initiatives include involving a slew of media and influencers in Toronto in their quest to reshape their image.
Truth of the matter is, the clothes are function over fashion (and I’ll often argue that my priorities usually swing the decision the other way). There are some amazing innovations (sounds so technology-oriented, and it is) at Mark’s, such as their waterproof jeans. 11 Hours and going, water poured on their coated jeans hold up strong.
I was absolutely spoiled as the last person to attend their sessions at the Intercontinental Hotel downtown Toronto. We had our hair, makeup, styling and photos done by an absolutely stellar and talented team. Being unaware of what to expect, and having gone through torturous photoshoot sessions, I was so overwhelmingly surprised at how well put together everything was. I’m truly in awe of the work that some of these folks produce (though I definitely wish I were more photogenic to do it all justice). And products? Products galore. I walked away feeling like a rockstar and rich in new knowledge and goodies.
Thank you Greg, Janine, Afiya, Rannie, Rayanne, and everyone at Mark’s for putting this together! Hearts.
You look tres Cute!
I love the jacket and that cardigan!
I’m glad to see Mark’s is styling it up a bit. I often go there for winter gear- always expecting function over fashion. (I don’t know how I’d survive winter w/out my favourite and warmest winter toque from Mark’s). But it seems like it’ll be the best of both worlds now!
looking gorg gloria! :)
i had no idea they changed their store name!
