NYFW – The Start
It’s here it’s here! A delayed post about NYFW – my first time. It’s been a complete whirlwind from when I landed in New York to when I was whisked into a fantastic seat at the BCBG Max Azria show opener. Amidst the extreme hustle and bustle, here’s what I observed from the get go:
- NYFW is much, much bigger than WMCFW (and less initials in the acronym, PHEW)
- There are a ton of Canadians milling about
- Media is international (of course), and much, much grander scale
- The fashion environment vendors are killer.
- I need to do this again.
I state all of this from a novice’s standpoint. New York makes me think there’s so much “impossible” to conquer, and that this is the place to be.
BCBG’s opening show was stunning – I’m not quite one to fawn over their wares typically (though I love their accessorie and am quick to hop over there in the instance I need a formal dress), I LOVED their new take on the traditionally masculine bombers. Lace, white, layered over silk dresses. Beauty.
