I recently went through a transition period – going from school into the workforce warrants an investment in a good bag, and I only recently discovered how immensely difficult it is to find the perfect work-ready purse.
Why is it difficult? Several reasons:
So after way too many trips to the mall I managed to come across a fantastic find from Winners – a Calvin Klein Luxe Nappa Pleated Satchel (leather) bag in black for $129. Good times – but not the time it took to find it. Take a look at some other bags I dug out that would serve a working girl’s arm well.

I need a good bag for summer. I don’t have any, at the moment not even a cheap one, I’v egiven those all to charity. Leather, light and size somewhere between small and big is what I am dreaming about.

hi juliet! really, donated bags huh? I found that I have an overabundance of tacky bags – adidas bowling bags, puma bags, and some really cheap pleather ones that I can’t understand why I still own.
A great place to find a bag I would recommend Winners – they have a surprisingly high quality selection, but you have to be willing to muck around for a little while in there :)
I find everything surrounding school to work life hard fashion-wise. I went shopping for a black decent-sized bag when I started interviewing for jobs a few months ago. I had so much trouble and I was on a tight schedule, so I ended up with something from H&M that I hate.
I love Matt&Nat, though. Been crazy about my brown wallet since I bought it about a year ago. My friend found a fabulous brown fake leather/tweedish material bag at Winners a few months ago and I am beyond jealous. I have to keep my eye on that store more often than I already do!
oh no! I completely understand – I had my fair share of poor quality H&M bags, and I always used them for school and they’d get destroyed.
I like certain matt&nat items, but I can’t wrap my mind around having to pay so much for a polyurethane bag. winners is awesome – do it do it! (:
ps – looking forward to hearing back about the program!
