Solange Sandcastle Disco

While the singing siblings syndrome I find strange to no end (think Justin and George Nozuka, Daniel and Natasha Bedingfield, Ashley and Jessica Simpson), I’m admittedly enjoying Solange Knowles’ Sandcastle Disco song (though I don’t really understand the title). I happen to like many a song and band that include the word disco, and this is just another one of them. I’m late to the party on this one – it’s from circa-too-long-ago

Let me know what you think, it’s too cute for words. And has anyone happened across the bio for Solange? Fascinating, indeed.

This song has been on my iPod for a while and I adore it. I’m only vaguely familiar with the rest of her album, though. I do know that when it came out, a solid group of music bloggers praised it highly, which to me, sets her entirely apart from her sister. Despite the fact that they both put out overtly pop music, they seem to have somehow attracted crowds (with Solange’s being more of an underground, bourgeoning fan base). I’m still not sure how I feel about the music video yet, though. I do know that it reminds me of the ice cream trucks of my youth… I think that’s a good thing.
