I’m a fan of folk-y, and when I was invited to the Harry Rosen Underground Sessions event with Cuff the Duke, I gave it a wholehearted YES. Heading there with a male in tow, I enjoyed some sweet sounding tunes up on stage in their basement floor (surrounded with contemporary casual), with a giant feat on Denham jeans. Excited to say that this premium jean maker is on the radar for another feature.
Crafty, crisp, and cultured. While at a less accessible price point, it’s still something to marvel about. Have a look at more at denhamthejeanmaker.com.

This video has me struck, and it’s for the men that stop by the blog. Michael Bastian sheds some light on his Fall 2010, a line that has the specific theme of lacrosse resounding through the stylings and each piece. Enjoy.
Steve Nash’s trophy case is filled with a litany of awards including 2 NBA MVPs, 7 NBA All-Star Teams, 3 Canadian Male Athlete of the Year and one Olympic Torch. Not only is he a prolific athletic professional but he is a passionate humanitarian through his own Steve Nash Foundation. As far as I’m concerned he may be one of the greatest living Canadians (well that’s if you look past the fact that he’s an avid Tottenham Hotspur supporter… at least it reminds us that he’s human). Anyways just when you’re thinking that there is nothing else Steve Nash can do to make us feel bad for being mediocre, he goes off and decides to produce a film honouring the life of Terry Fox.
You can read all about the suave, stylish and generally amazing Steve Nash and his new film-making adventure in the latest Harry Magazine.

So even though we just got a fresh dumping of snow here in Toronto, we can start look forward to fresh and bright colours accompanying the warm weather ahead. Last summer plaids and bright madras started sneaking into our closets but this summer there will be a complete takeover. Expect to start seeing lads dressed as members of the Socs from The Outsiders.
Not only are they light and breathable but brightly coloured madras button downs look great in warm sunny weather when paired with a navy blazer and jeans or khakis. An example pictured above is a Fred Perry button down paired with a Sand blazer (a great Danish brand). My personal favourite is going a tone down and using the colourful patterns as accents either in the form of a pocket square or neck tie. The line of Gitman Bros. ties, pictured above, provide a sure fire way to stand out in a conservative crowd.
Like the bright plaid patterns but not sure where to start? Stroll over to your local Harry Rosen for these madras items plus many more for Spring and Summer 2010.
The very fine folk of Harry Rosen sent me their Fall Looks for 2009 – so eat your heart out boys. Some great classic looks (well, because many of you boy-readers are seemingly convinced that you don’t have variety in the men’s clothing category). Assume not – here are three fine looks for the fall to come.
The pricing is somewhat varied in this assortment of clothing – all obviously skewed a tad higher. Much of the time I find opting for the few essentials of good make supersedes the disposable clothing purchases. Take note at some of the names, they might just become staples.
Campus, Business Warmth, Business Casual – all dapper.
PS: I kid you not, but once I met Larry Rosen, of Harry Rosen fame. It was for a YMA conference…cheers!
