Here’s something you might want to add to your morning routine. It’s time to shower, shave, and end it off with a BANG – Marc Jacobs style. BANG is Marc Jacobs’ new fragrance for men, and Marc hasn’t put out a masculine scent for almost a decade.
The design of the bottle is unique and distinguished. It looks like a rare metal craved out eloquently by a meteor soaring from the heavens above. It is a very appealing design that definitely lives up to the “bang” concept. Too bad the amount of thought that was put it the design wasn’t put it to its physics because any little tap will knock this thing over. You try keeping this thing standing up right.
Now you would think with a name like BANG the fragrance would be bold and daring, but its quite the opposite. It is a subtle, wood enriched scent that is calming, direct, and very distinct. The fragrance is easily recognizable once you take a whiff and will leave you standing out from the crowd.
This is a product for men, so I’m still trying to figure out how Marc posing naked for the campaign is suppose to entice men to buy this product. Unless the whole point is to get women buy this product for their male companion. Maybe you buy it because you feel you will be super fit if you wear BANG, but I think I’ll go with the first concept.
Anyways Marc Jacobs’ BANG is on the scene and you can find out more at marcjacobsbang.com.
Spring has finally become a reality, and for any girl looking to change up more than just her wardrobe (guilty!), look no further than Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume to put you in the right mood for this season.
If you’re wondering why Daisy sounds so familiar, it’s because the perfume is only new-ish. The light and floral scent has been around for a while now, but received a charming makeover for its Spring 2010 limited edition bottle: retro-cool blue, vinyl petals that bloom from the cap for a playful look.
And as the saying goes, “it doesn’t matter what’s on the outside, but what’s on the inside”. So what does Daisy have to offer inside? Something even prettier. A mix of all things good (think violet, wild strawberry, gardenia and vanilla infusion) the scent is fresh, delicate and ultra-feminine. With one quick spritz, Daisy will leave you happily daydreamin’ about carefree days with pretty flowers, blue skies and big bright yellow suns.
I love my perfumes. Especially when the packaging is enough to make me marvel, which the DAISY Solid Fragrance Pendant has surely done. Although the fragrance itself is scarce within (it’s balm-like, and quite sparing) and the pin keeps coming loose, it’s presentation is more than enough to compensate.
Details:
Enter the world of Daisy: fresh and feminine, with a playful innocence. At the heart of Daisy is a floral with vintage edge—violet. Sophisticated with a touch of whimsy, violet captures the eclectic, vintage flavor of Marc Jacobs’ feminine, edgy designs. Always elegant, always enchanting—but not too serious—Daisy is a sparkling floral bouquet that is spirited, fresh, and wrapped in comfort and warmth. This Solid Perfume Necklace is classic yet youthful, containing a 0.02 oz solid perfume that you can apply anywhere, any time.
Strawberry, Violet Leaves, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Gardenia, Violet Petals, Jasmine Petals, Musk, Vanilla, White Woods.
Sounds luscious. See below for product shots (mm mmm.)
Why it’s Marc Jacobs again, back with an edgier older sister to the Daisy Fragrance. LOLA is described as a “modern free spirit with an irresistible attitude”. I’m absolutely taken by the packaging for the most part – a remarkable silhouette topped with layers of colourful and dramatic petals for the floral cap. Strikingly original I’d say.
Here it is straight from the MJ people:
Marc Jacobs designed LOLA as an electrifying, over-the-top bouquet exploding from the bottle. Twisting layers of fabric, he fashioned the sumptuous swirls of a lavish floral bouquet. The iconic high gloss cap shines with astonishing proportions and playful colours making it irresistible to touch.
As for the scent? See it as the next life stage for Daisy – LOLA is more daring and rich (in scent not…literally).
The Fragrance:
Lola sparkles with fruity topnotes of delectable bright pink peppercorn (!), seductive pear d’anjou and succulent ruby red.
Grapefruit. The ultra-feminine heart is highlighted by the lavish fuschia peony with soft touches of rose and geranium.
The base lingers on skin exuding a warm and seductive aura with enveloping notes of smooth vanilla, tonka bean, and creamy musk.
Thanks to COTY for sending the package my way – I think the zip folder with layers that mimic the fragrance bottle were just icing on the cake!

I’m sure that the hardcore fashionista Obama supporters (if there is such a thing) are reading this already decked out in their designer Obama pieces, but for those who don’t know you can now purchase designer Obama clothing online.
Girls can choose from a variety of pieces that range from tank tops by Alexander Wang to tote bags by Marc Jacobs. You can even accessorise your outfit with a Proenza Schouler leather bracelet.
There isn’t as much choice for the guys (you can imagine my dissapointment…ha!) but you can get a T-shirt designed by your favourite rap star including Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams. I just hope that these products were made ethically and (for elections sake) in the USA. The last thing Obama needs is a sweatshop controversy.
