Warning: this post is bound to be very biased.

You see, in my last year of high school, when other girls were searching Fairweather and Le Chateau for prom dresses, I was drooling on Versace.com. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t a rich kid, not even close…but I was a resourceful one. I took the picture to a dress-maker in Barrie, who worked out of the basement of his suburban home that he shared with his wife and two kids. You literally had to step over his kids’ toys to get into his “studio” and it was there that we gushed over the ruching, the colour, the glamour. He made the dress for me to the best of his abilities, which looking back was limited and I wore it proudly to my prom.

So needless to say that when it comes to getting Versace for less, I know my stuff.

I know that on November 17th Donatella Versace’s signature look is coming to H&M, and I know that if you want it, you better get up mighty early.

The Versace x H&M look book is chock-full of  the studded leathers, neon hues and of course animal prints that we’ve come to love from the brand. The fact of the matter is, is that it’s this aesthetic that merges very well with the H&M customer, perhaps even more so than any other guest designer before it.

After all, there’s something delightfully ironic, about getting that Italian “excess” look for less! Trust me, I know.
