Some of you may not know that I have a strong appreciation for origami and all things beautiful in paper form. I still look back so fondly at those days when I was 11 and had an origami business with the very talented Janet Hum (who went off to do fashion design and actually closed off Mass Exodus Ryerson 2008). We created decorated bottles filled with stars, roses, cranes, butterflies, and all things that we knew how to fold. I still fold origami turtles, shirts, and cranes when I’m bored (oh yeah, really attractive, it gets the boys. Kidding, kidding).
After hitting the CNE and forcing Skanwar to look at all things sparkly with me, we traipsed through Dundas Square where they have their weekend night markets for the summer. I had seen Washi Paper Jewelry before, but never took a thorough look through. I ended up leaving with the snapped paper brooch from above and a ring. Though I fear damaging my newly acquired beloved brooch, I’m so utterly fond of the effort that the designer (who by the way, is the coolest man with the coolest glasses) puts into his pieces.
Take a look at his website at yesidoido.com (hilarious – and the design is a tad primitive, but let the pieces speak for themselves). He’ll also be at the One of a Kind Show coming up in November
> ps. peep mon black shag rug – introducing another background so you guys don’t get nutty from too much barcelona. I love.
Hahaha, you’re welcome :).
WHABAM! We can look at ford GTs next time if you like?
Unlike this, I can’t afford those. District 9 if you’re ever in the giving mood, lol (just saying).
This is so clever and Eco-friendly!
so pretty !!!
