I have a lucky sneak peek at the upcoming line from our beloved LC. The LC - Spring/Summer 09 has proven to be a really progressive one for Conrad, I’m finding myself more and more in favour of the girly presentation and tone that her line has personified.

My favourite? The Blair dress - I’m a sucker for white dresses (which I keep buying and I’m completely unable to wear for fear of overdoing the fancy factor in the office). I also like the cream version of the Heley - it’s classic, exudes ‘pretty’, and skinny belts just do me in.

The line will be showing at LA Fashion Week (which is…this week!) - the photoshoot images foreshadow a great runway presence. Check out the MB Fashion Week Website after Tuesday, October 14th, 8pm, which is when the Lauren Conrad Collection hits the elevated-platform (aka…runway).

View the descriptor and early preview images after the hop-skip-jump.

The Lauren Conrad Collection - Spring/Summer 2009

This collection was inspired by the beauty of spring. Flowers are blooming, the atmosphere is changing and most importantly fashion introduces new collections to set the mood for the season. This ultra romantic, sweet, and playful collection encompasses all the sensibilities of the modern women.

For this season the Lauren Conrad collection offers beautiful styles that enhance ones beauty, while feeling comfortable and chic for any occasion. The collection is offering new fabrications that compliment the current selection of modal jersey and stretch sateen.

Burn out jersey is a light weight modal and supima blend that feels like silk on the skin and is offered in our basic best seller styles. The crinkle silk chiffon styles are whimsical and flirty like the bubble and mini dresses that are easy to wear for everyday.

Inspiration also came from the prints and trim. Spring Rose is a tonal large floral that embodies the spring concept and to compliment that there’s a Polk a dot print in the silk chiffon. The delicate rose trim if offered on the gauze styles which are light and breezy styles. This novelty trim gives it a fresh new look that is pretty and feminine.

Colors offered with names like blue flower, lemon chiffon, mulberry, truffle and ballerina are cool and light. They are clean and work together for many different looks.

Silhouettes include a variation of dresses in maxi lengths, strapless, halter, and natural waist fitting styles. There are one piece body suits as layering pieces. Ruffles, ruching, pleating and open back details are seen throughout the collection.

This work is very basic, very amateur. She only has a line because she’s a “celebrity”

I’d normally agree with the comment about celebrity lines, but it really seems like this one aims to be more classic and sustainable rather than cheesy graphics on tshirts - there’s progress in her design, which is more than most celebrities demonstrate!
